Interface is an independently run, non-profit exhibition space with a mission to enrich Bay Area culture through its support of relevant and engaging contemporary art practices. We present works created by a mix of local, national, and international emerging and established artists to emphasize a broad contemporary art context. Interface regularly offers financial support to exhibiting artists.
Our Creative Engagements series is an ongoing interdisciplinary series of writings, workshops, performances, readings and talks presented in conjunction with our exhibitions. It is designed to instigate generative exchanges among artists and audiences and across creative communities. Throughout 2019, Interface has been commissioning new writings to be presented in conjunction with its exhibitions. In 2020, we will be commissioning new writing as well as new movement pieces. The writings and performances are viewed as independent of the exhibitions they are paired with but are designed to complement and mutually activate one another.
